Poland, first to fight — Polish World War Two poster

Regular price £9.99 £0.00 Unit price per

Poster issued by the Polish government-in-exile, ca. 1940, showing a torn and tattered Polish flag. Designed by Polish painter and illustrator Marek Żuławski (who had moved to London two years before the war), the image was reproduced and reissued throughout the war in various formats, from stamps to postcards to book covers. Following the 1939 invasion and the collapse of the Second Polish Republic, the phrase “Poland - first to fight” became a widespread propaganda slogan.

This is a reproduction printed professionally on high-quality matte paper.
